Ideal Weight Calculator
Did you know that women tend to underestimate their ideal weight, while men tend to overestimate theirs? Our Ideal Weight Calculator uses your height and Body Mass Index to determine your ideal weight range. From a medical perspective, all body weights within this range are approximately equally healthy, which begs the question of whether you should aim for a weight at the lower end or the upper end of your ideal range.
Aiming High or Low
With the health issue out of the way, you can let looks be your guide when deciding whether to aim for a higher or lower weight within your ideal weight range. If you have a large frame or lots of lean muscle mass, your ideal weight is most likely in the upper half of your weight range, while individuals with a petite frame will usually look better near the lower end of their ideal weight range.
Limitations
Because the Ideal Weight Calculator bases its results on BMI, these calculations are intended to apply only to individuals with average body composition. Athletes and bodybuilders with significantly higher percentages of muscle mass than average may have a higher ideal weight than the one suggested by this calculator. Most people, however, should fall within the recommended ideal weight range for optimal health.
